Configuring Config Manager Connector in Service Manager 2012

Hello,

Today we configure the config manager connector in order to retrieve the detailed information about hardware, software and user info and import it into the cmdb.

Prereqs :

-> Add the connector account to smsdbrole_extract and db_datareader role on the config manager DB

Open SQL management studio and create a login for connector account

Add the login to the correct roles on config manager site DB.

Now go to the service manager console and create a new config manager connector.
Choose the correct MP according to the version of config manager.

Supply the correct parameters and test the connection.

Set the correct options. Use the “Do not write …” in order to be able to set props in the CMDB and not let them be overwritten by null values at the next sync.

Choose schedule.

Test the sync

Check the progress by looking at the eventviewer, operations manager log.

And verify the result in the cmdb.

Bye
